My Story...
I have always been interested in people and how people work. Most of my working career has been geared around being of assistance to others and for the past 8 years I have worked extensively with SPECTRUM (Devon and Cornwall Autistic Trust) as a care Support Worker gaining an NVQ in Care. The work has involved working with service users who have a variety of Learning Difficulties promoting life skills and rights of choice etc. This meant dealing with many forms of Challenging Behaviour which got me interested in how the mind works and the process of the mind as it deals with everyday challenges. I decided I wanted to train as a therapist and after doing a brief counselling course and doing a lot of online research I was very lucky to have found The Quest Institute based at Regents College in London who were training people to become Cognitive Hypnotherapists and NLP Practitioners. I joined the HPD course in 2009 and Graduated in January 2010. Since then I have worked as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist with clients throughout West Cornwall and also at The Barbican Therapy Centre in Plymouth.
Recently I have been asked to appear as a therapist on series 4 of the Channel Four TV program Embarrassing Bodies helping out one of their patients. Hopefully the show will be aired around the Springtime 2011.... I have lived in Cornwall for 15 years and I feel blessed to be surrounded by such natural beauty and amazing people which helps inspire my passion for creating art whether it be painting or photography.
