About Cognitive Hypnotherapy

Cognitive Hypnotherapy uses theories accessed from Modern Psychology and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and applies those using hypnotic methods to create a space for therapeutic intervention and change. This is achieved by utilising everyday trance states that we use, via our unconscious, to negotiate the world we live in.

Your unconscious serves to protect and keep you safe by drawing you towards pleasure and away from pain. Everyday the unconscious filters vast amounts of information to maintain this feeling of security. This then translates into particular repeating patterns of behavior or life scripts and as individuals, we are unaware of this internal thought process. We often might wonder why we act out certain behaviors, believe certain things to be true or indulge certain habits, even when we know it might be having a detrimental effect on our well-being.

The benefit of Cognitive Hypnotherapy is that it uses the client's own language through hypnosis and trance states to access and change potentially harmful or restricting behaviors. It does this by using a wide variety of techniques with the understanding that every individual is different. People are unique and require an individual approach specific to their needs and personality.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy works under the premise that you are the prospective creator of your own desired goal and that you have all the resources within you to achieve this. Therefore the tools that Cognitive Hypnotherapy can offer to help you attain your goal are more effective at gaining the results you wish for.
